(Prolonged) exposure to loud music is a common cause of tinnitus. The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that 1.1 billion young people (12-35 years) are at risk of noise-induced hearing loss in the recreational sphere. Research shows that when using personal music players, more than half of the users do this on a volume that is too high. This is due for a large part to the use of low-quality poorly fitting in-ear buds and headsets. Such devices allow more background noise, so that the user tends to turn up the volume. The TinnitusFree foundation promotes the use of high-quality sound carriers, in line with the recommendations of veiligheid.nl. The TinnitusFree Foundation is proud to collaborate with TP Vision, which has a proven reputation in the field of high-quality sound carriers. The Philips Fidelio L3 (produced by TP-V) won the 2021/2022 EISA award for best wireless headphone.
